The Program has issued a Qualified Patient & Designated Caregiver Guide. This guide will assist individuals interested in becoming cardholders in the Commonwealth of Kentucky with applying for a medical cannabis card. The Guide will walk applicants through the steps to register, including the required information and documents they will need to complete the card application process.

The Patient and Caregiver Registry Portal will be available by Jan. 1, 2025. A written certification for medical cannabis from an authorized medical practitioner remains valid for sixty (60) days following the date it is issued and will not be accepted if expired. Patients and caregivers are encouraged to abstain from pursuing a written certification from an authorized medical practitioner unless it is within the 60-day timeframe during which card registrations will become available, or no sooner than Nov. 1st, 2024.
