Overview
The Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis is committed to ensuring Kentuckians suffering with serious medical conditions have safe, secure access to medical cannabis at the soonest possible date. The Office has faithfully implemented and executed Kentucky's medical cannabis laws and regulations based on industry best practices, as required by the Kentucky General Assembly. The Office has been and remains committed to transparency throughout this process. Information relating to reviews of the medical cannabis program are provided below. The Office has also provided voluminous materials, technical advisories, and guidance documents throughout this website.

On April 17, 2025, the Auditor of Public Accounts sent a letter to the Office of Medical Cannabis requesting various documents to conduct a preliminary assessment regarding the execution of the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program.

On May 1, 2025, the Office of Medical Cannabis provided an initial response to the Auditor of Public Account's request for various documents to conduct a preliminary assessment regarding the execution of the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program.

On May 6, 2025, the Office of Medical Cannabis requested the Finance and Administration Cabinet, Office of Inspector General, to conduct an independent, contemporaneous review of the Office's implementation of Kentucky's medical cannabis laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Office has provided the Inspector General with all records it produced to the Auditor of Public Accounts to facilitate the Inspector General's review.
