Executive Order 2026-361 (June 11, 2026)

On June 11, 2026, Governor Beshear issued Executive Order 2026-361 to rescind Executive Order 2022-798. Beginning July 1, 2026, Kentuckians with certain conditions who purchase medical cannabis out-of-state will no longer be eligible for a conditional pardon for the criminal offense of marijuana possession afforded by Executive Order 2022-798. Kentucky medical cannabis cardholders who purchase medical cannabis from an out-of-state dispensary may be subject to law enforcement action and will no longer be eligible for a pardon for the criminal offense of marijuana possession under KRS 218A.1422.

Executive Order 2026-318 (June 2, 2026)

On June 2, 2026, Governor Beshear issued Executive Order 2026-318, clarifying the statutory definition of "qualifying medical condition."

Executive Order 2025-335 (May 29, 2025)

On May 29, 2025, Governor Beshear issued Executive Order 2025-335, allowing any individual who was approved by the Office of Medical Cannabis to receive a medical cannabis card in calendar year 2025 to have their $25 renewal application fee waived in calendar year 2026.

Executive Order 2023-600 (Oct. 5, 2023)

On Oct. 5, 2023, Governor Beshear issued Executive Order 2023-600, creating the Team Kentucky Medical Cannabis Workgroup to study evolving medical cannabis industry policy and the state of medical cannabis policy in the Commonwealth. The Workgroup will make recommendations to the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program and other state agencies.

Executive Order 2022-338 (June 14, 2022)

On June 14, 2022, Governor Beshear issued Executive Order 2022-338, creating the Team Kentucky Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee to travel to the various regions of the Commonwealth, hold public hearings, and provide feedback to the Governor. The committee's purpose was to provide a forum for Kentuckians to voice their opinion on this issue better to inform Governor Beshear's consideration of executive action.
